The PCOS Nutritionist (trading as Clare Goodwin) complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (the Act) when dealing with personal information, including health information. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual.
This policy sets out how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal and health information when you use claregoodwin.co or any of our Services. By accessing or using the Services, you authorise us to collect and use your information in accordance with this policy and the Act.

Children
We do not intend to collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 16, please contact us at hello@claregoodwin.co.
What information we collect and from whom
We collect personal and health information from you when you:
- Complete the PMOS type quiz (quiz responses and email address)
- Purchase a product or service (email address, payment information, name and billing address)
- Book or attend a 1:1 consultation or group programme (health history, lifestyle information, consultation notes)
- Contact us by email or through the website
- Visit the website (device, browser, and usage data collected automatically via Google Analytics)
We also collect your approximate location (country level) via ipapi.co for the purpose of displaying the correct currency. No personally identifiable information is stored by this service.
Where possible, we collect personal information directly from you. If you do not provide complete and accurate information, we may be unable to provide appropriate services and will have no responsibility for any resulting impact.
How we use your information
- To deliver your quiz result and any products or services you purchase
- To provide personalised nutrition education and coaching in consultations and programmes
- To send you emails related to your quiz result, purchases, and relevant content about PMOS and irregular cycles
- To tag and segment our email list so we can send you relevant information (for example, content relevant to your PMOS type)
- To process payments and maintain financial records
- To improve our website and services through anonymised analytics
- To respond to your communications and complaints
- To protect and enforce our legal rights
- For any other purpose authorised by you or the Act
Disclosing your information
We may disclose your personal information to:
- Kit (ConvertKit) — our email marketing platform, used to store your email address and deliver email communications. Kit's privacy policy is available at kit.com.
- Stripe — our payment processor. Payment information is handled directly by Stripe and subject to their privacy policy at stripe.com. We do not store your card details.
- Google Analytics — used to understand how visitors use our website. Data is anonymised and aggregated. You can opt out via Google's opt-out browser add-on.
- ipapi.co — used solely to detect your approximate location for currency display. No personal data is stored.
- Any person authorised by the Act or another law (e.g. a regulatory or law enforcement authority)
- Any other person authorised by you
Some of these third-party services may be located outside New Zealand. This means your personal information may be held and processed outside New Zealand. Unless prohibited by law, if we are required to provide your information to a third party under legal obligation, we will advise you of this.
Health information
Where you provide health information to us (for example, in completing a consultation intake form or questionnaire), we collect and hold that information in accordance with the Act and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020. Health information is used only for the purpose of providing you with appropriate nutrition education and support, and will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent except as required by law.
Email marketing
When you submit your email address through our quiz or any form on this site, you are added to our email list. You will receive emails related to your quiz result and, from time to time, information about our products and services. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email. Once unsubscribed, we will not send you further marketing emails.
Protecting your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal and health information from loss, unauthorised access, or misuse. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant. While we maintain secure connections, if you provide information over the internet the provision of that information is at your own risk.
Retention of information
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected. Email list data is retained while you remain subscribed; if you unsubscribe, data is retained for up to 12 months before deletion unless you request earlier deletion. Purchase and financial records are retained for 7 years in accordance with New Zealand tax law. Health information collected in the course of consultations is retained in accordance with the Health (Retention of Health Information) Regulations 1996.
Accessing and correcting your information
Subject to certain grounds for refusal under the Act, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request correction of inaccurate information. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@claregoodwin.co with evidence of your identity and details of your request. We may charge reasonable costs for providing copies of your information.
Cookies
We use cookies for Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. These do not contain personally identifiable information. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect your ability to use some features of the site.
Links to other sites
Our website may contain links to third-party websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We suggest you review their policies before providing personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy by posting a revised version on the website. Changes take effect from the date of posting. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
